Auto Payments, Damage Waivers, and a New Direct Booking Incentive for your Guests
This month’s Dtravel product update introduces guest invoicing, cancellation requests, a new crypto booking incentive, auto payments, as well as functionality to set up security deposits and damage waivers.

This month’s Dtravel product update brings a suite of improvements designed to enhance the guest experience, encourage more direct bookings, while providing greater flexibility and peace of mind for your business. Over the last couple weeks, we’ve added guest invoicing, cancellation requests, a new crypto booking incentive, auto payments, as well as functionality to set up security deposits and damage waivers.

Auto Payment Rules
Auto payment rules allow you to offer multiple payment options to your guests. For example, you could provide your guests the following options:
- Pay in full today and save 5%
- Pay 20% today and pay the remaining balance 14 days before check-in
This is important for the following reasons:
- Save money – payment rules reduce your Stripe transaction fee burden if a guest needs to cancel. It's cheaper for you to cancel a booking where you only collected 10% as opposed to 100%.
- More bookings – offering guests multiple payment options reduces friction to book. Guests may be more inclined to book your property when they only need to pay a fraction of the total upfront.
- More far-future bookings – according to Airbnb, paying less upfront encourages bookings further in advance. Compared with ordinary bookings, the Pay Less Up Front payment option led to bookings with nearly double the lead time, helping hosts to secure and manage bookings more easily.
To configure Auto Payment Rules, navigate to Settings → Payment Settings in your Dtravel Direct dashboard.

Monthly Payments
For extended stays, you can now enable monthly payment plans, allowing guests to pay in multiple installments over the course of their stay.
- Available for stays of 32+ nights.
- Guests can pay a percentage of the total booking value over time.
- To set up monthly payments, navigate to payment settings in your Dtravel Direct dashboard.
This feature is designed to give both you and your guests more financial flexibility for long-term bookings.

Security Deposit and Damage Waivers
Protect your properties while offering guests flexibility in how they secure their stay.
- Allow guests to choose between a refundable security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver.
- Set custom deposit and waiver amounts based on your property’s risk and value.
- Pre-authorized holds help ensure funds are available while avoiding unnecessary charges.
- You have 48 hours post-check-out to process claims directly through Stripe.
To configure security deposits and damage waivers, navigate to Settings → Payment Settings in your Dtravel Direct dashboard.

Guest Receipts & Invoices
Your guests can now easily download an invoice for their bookings, making expense tracking and record-keeping simpler.
To download an invoice:
- Ask your guests to log into the Dtravel app.
- Select the reservation.
- Go to the reservation details page.
- Click “Download Invoice”.
Request to Modify a Booking
Your guests now have the ability to request a booking modification directly through the Dtravel app.
To request a modification:
- Ask your guests to log into the Dtravel app.
- Select the reservation.
- Go to the reservation details page.
- Click “Request cancellation”or “Request a change”.
- Provide details and confirm.
Once submitted, the request will be sent to you for review.

Offer a 10% Discount on TRVL Bookings
We’re introducing a new incentive to encourage direct bookings. Available to all Dtravel Direct customers who accept crypto payments, guests who pay with TRVL will automatically receive a 10% discount on their stay.
- The discount applies to all bookings paid in TRVL.
- No limit on how many times it can be used.
- The discount is applied to the total booking value.
- The 10% will be refunded to your Dtravel Smart Wallet after the cancellation window has ended, guaranteeing full revenue retention.
