The product enables Travala.com’s Diamond tier Smart Program members to mint a blockchain-based travel passport and commemorate their trips by collecting NFT stamps for every completed hotel, flight and activity booking on Travala.com. Diamond members will be able to claim stamps on every one of Travala.com’s 2.2 million accommodations, 600+ airlines and more than 400,000 activities.
Accelerating Traveler Ownership with Travala.com
Developed by Dtravel, the Open Passport marks the first step in creating a product that will empower travelers to take ownership over their travel history. Coming off the heels of our integration announcement, which will bring Dtravel-powered direct booking sites to Travala.com, the partnership is a testament to our ongoing relationship with the world's leading crypto-friendly online travel agency. Partnering with Travala.com will accelerate product development by enabling both teams to learn from Travala.com’s highly engaged community of Diamond members.
To begin collecting stamps for previously completed trips, Diamond Tier members can mint their Open Passport free of charge. Non-Diamond tier members who would like to mint an Open Passport can do so by upgrading to Travala.com’s Diamond tier with the purchase of a Travel Tiger NFT.
Future Utility and Global Adoption
An upcoming public release will see the program extended to any traveler who books a stay through a Dtravel-powered direct booking site. In the future, traditional travel companies will also be given access to the technology, helping onboard the world to web3 and empowering individuals from across the globe with ownership over their travel history.
An extensive roadmap is already in place. Updates will include:

Join the Beta Program to Begin Commemorating your Trips
To become an early adopter and mint a free Open Passport, join Travala.com’s Diamond tier smart program. Users with Diamond tier status can now connect their MetaMask or WalletConnect to their Travala.com account and mint an Open Passport on the BNB Smart Chain.
Adopters of the Open Passport will be able to mint stamps retroactively for all past completed trips. For example, if you completed five bookings of any kind on Travala.com in 2022, then all five of these trips will be redeemable for stamps. For any upcoming trips, stamps will be redeemable the day after a flight, stay or activity is completed. For example, if check-out for a hotel is on May 1, 2023, the stamp will be redeemable on May 2, 2023.
Stamps are non-transferrable BEP-1155 tokens and cannot be transferred to another wallet. However, the Open Passport itself, along with the stamps associated with it, can be sent from one wallet to another.
