How to Add a Promo Code

 
Property managers have the ability to add promo codes to their Dtravel powered direct booking website or listing to give select guests discounts. When a promo code is added, it can be used for any of the listings on your direct booking website.
 
How to Add a Promo Code
  1. Sign up or log in to your Dtravel account

  1. Select the Settings module in the header and click on Promo codes on the left hand navigation.

  1. Click New promo code to create a promo code.

  1. Enter details of the promo code
      • Name (Optional): free from and used for your internal tracking
      • Code: created in alphanumeric format (no symbols) and used for guests to apply to receive discount on the booking(s). The code must be a minimum of 5 characters.
      • Discount type: choose Percentage or Fixed amount
        • The discount value is applied to the final price of the booking and you can set a max capped discount if using a Percentage
      • Expiration date (Optional): choose a time period during which the promo code can be used
        • Leave it empty if you don’t want to limit the promo code to a specific period of time
      • Maximum discount uses: check Limit number of times this discount can be used in total option to set up the maximum time the promo code can be used
        • Leave it empty is you don’t want to set the limit of times the discount can be used
      • Click Confirm to create code

  1. To turn off the promo code and make it inactive, click on the button under Status to toggle it off. When it’s inactive, it will be grey with an x. When it’s active, it will be checked and dark.

  1. To delete a promo code, click on the garbage can icon.

  1. Once the promo code is created, you can share the code with guests to use on their bookings. To copy the code, click the small copy icon on the right hand side of the code.

  1. Guests can use the code by entering it on the checkout page to apply it to a booking.

  1. The discount will appear in the summary for guests to review.

  1. Property managers can monitor the performance of their promo codes in the Settings page under Promo Codes. All the promo codes that have been created will be listed along with the number of times it’s been used and the status of the codes - active, inactive or expired (if a time period was set when creating the promo code).
