Simply put, Smart Wallets are more user friendly than traditional non-custodial wallets because there aren’t any private keys or seed phrases to store, but it’s just as secure. Instead, Dtravel customers can use their email to create a web3 wallet to hold their funds when accepting crypto payments.
As of January 2024, anyone that hasn’t yet connected a MetaMask wallet will be able to create a Smart Wallet directly from their Dtravel account.
If you’re somewhat new to crypto and don’t yet have a wallet, we recommend creating a Smart Wallet simply with your email. If you’re not new to crypto wallets, we recommend using one of your existing wallets as the auth login for the creation of a smart wallet.
How to create and use Smart wallet on Dtravel?
- If you’re a new customer, first you’ll need to sign up for a Dtravel Host account.
- Enter personal and business details in the onboarding flow. When entering Payment methods section in the onboarding flow, click on Create a wallet button to create a smart wallet.
- A smart wallet can be created using Email, Metamask, Coinbase wallet, or WalletConnect.
- Select an option and follow the onboarding guide in the popup to create a wallet.
- After the wallet has been created successfully, it will show a CONNECTED status with the wallet address. Customers can see the wallet UI when accessing Dtravel’s host dashboard.
Note:
- Each Dtravel customer can create one smart wallet only
- Transactions are executed on Polygon chain.
- If you’ve skipped creating a wallet in the onboarding flow, you can still create one in the host app’s dashboard on the Settings page or in the header of the Host app. If you already have an existing Dtravel account but never connected a wallet (Metamask), you can also create a new smart wallet.
