Setting a Self Hosted Domain Name

 
This process will require you to update your domain in the Dtravel app as well as on your domain provider.
 
1. Go to your Dtravel Settings page.
2. Navigate to the Custom URL module and click Add.

3. Select Self Hosted, add your custom URL that you’ve already purchased from a third party domain provider, and click the Connect custom URL button.

4. If you’re using a domain purchased by Ionos or GoDaddy, you can click the Connect automatically button. You will then need to sign into your Ionos or GoDaddy account to complete the connection.

5. For all other domain providers, click on the Connect manually button to get the config data provided by Dtravel, including Dtravel IP and CNAME. Use this information to set up the connection in your Domain Provider’s portal.

6. Now, head over to your domain provider to set up the connection. You’ll need to create or modify two A records and one CNAME record:
  • A | * | 3.0.166.119
  • A | @ | 3.0.166.119
Your DNS settings should then look something like this:

7. After configuration on the domain provider, click the Verify connection button on the Settings page to confirm whether the domain is successfully connected.
  1. Please note, it might take your domain provider up to 24 hours before you can verify.

Note: You still use the third-party domain provider to manage your domain settings, pay for your domain, and renew it.

Set your primary domain on Dtravel

With the custom URL feature, hosts can also choose the Primary domain in case they have more than 1 domain configured in the Settings page.
  • Within the “Add Custom URLs” modal, select the URL you want to set as the primary domain
  • Click on the Set as primary button and confirm

The primary domain will now be displayed for all guest facing pages.
